ZOMVOOS
THE ART OF G.A. LAWRENCE
ZOMVOOS are not just drawings—they are living amulets of imagination. Each one carries a name, a purpose, and a story stitched from folklore, horror, and love.
Inspired by the legends of Voodoo amulets, dolls, and the haunting figure of the Zombie, these illustrated spirits transform curses into blessings. Black pins—symbols of healing and good fortune—turn flaws and burdens inside out, resurrecting them with joy, humor, and tenderness.
Each Zomvoos is a character, an effigy with meaning inscribed in its form, offering symbolic protection, insight, or power to those who encounter it. Together, they create a collection that is at once playful and profound, where art protects, flaws become beauty, and darkness is undone by light.
That is their mantra: REVERSE THE CURSE
The Zomvoos’ souls shine as recycled light—protective, joyous, and strangely moving. Many who have met them in ink and spirit have felt something stir, sometimes even to tears. Perhaps it is memory. Perhaps recognition. Or perhaps it is the reminder that we are all stitched together by love, flaws and all.
