Valerio Ventura's ideas and design sensitivities have been formed during his time at the Enzo Ferrari technical school (Vallauri) and the Giorgio De Chirico school of art in Rome, Italy.  The Enzo Ferrari school was a short experience, Valerio's father did not want him to be an artist so he sent him there, but a year later after Valerio failed miserably, he was sent to the Giorgio De Chirico school of art.

Valerio took the architectural and design part of the school curriculum and after four agonizing years he got his diploma and started to save his money to go vacationing in the USA.

Valerio loved cartoon and film, his grandfather Renato, used to show him Super 8 films of Disney cartoons and he was always mesmerized by that. It was inevitable that at one point he decided to move to California with just $400 in his pocket and it's there that he got a job as a parking attendant.

After many years of hard work working for the best studios in the world, Valerio was able to join the Mickey Mouse Shorts irreverent and insanely talented crew at Disney TV and won a 2014 PRIMETIME EMMY AWARD for his design work.

Today Valerio is Art Director working on the Warner Bros. Discovery/HBO Max adult show VELMA. Yes adult, yes, Velma from Scooby-Doo.

ARTIST STATEMENT

It's really fucked up when you believe in being something else that it is really not quite and ingredient in your DNA. For me, it's being an artist, and making a living at it was definitely not a thing, especially since my father had been a 'working' guitar player for half of his life and everybody else that had been a musician in my family had issues with drugs, addiction or just plain, unnecessary drama. My mother was a big supporter though, she was an artist herself, but being a woman, not quite allowed to express herself. So, no one really supported me, except for her, and that's it, nobody really thought I could make it. The day that I left my family, I did not know that I was not going to see them again for eight straight years and after that short visit, for another 14 years. And so the day that I left, someone I love dearly said: "You know that you will fail, right?" That shocked me, I couldn't even speak, but I understood that this person was absolutely terrified that I would never make it. I guess that's what happens when people especially your loved ones are afraid that they may not see you again. On the other end, my family surprised me with a beautiful recording of their voices, singing playing music for me to take so if I ever felt desperate or lonely I could play it back. And trust that those lonely desperate days did come knocking, and that recording helped immensely.

When I arrived in California, I stayed illegally, so at first going back for me was not an option. Another family member at one point told me that I would be very successful at selling cars so I should try that. That was after they had loaned me a few thousand dollars because I was out of work for a bit, but I was not going to give up.

As artists or just individuals that want to push the envelope or get out of the box we are assigned, you know it's going to be hard, very hard to break that DNA mold you're born with. So what am I trying to achieve with this? Well the one thing I have in common with the very few artists I see here in this relatively new NFT world, is that I'm a creator and I just can't stop creating and generating art with all my passion and commitment.

THIS IS MY DRUG, THIS IS MY ADDICTION.

What I can't promise is that if you invest in my work you'll make money, fuck no. If you think you're investing to make money, get the fuck out.

What I can promise is that you'll be entertained and that I will put the best quality work out there for you to fucking consume, enjoy and be inspired by.

MY WORK

To produce the images that you see and that you can't see yet, some of which I have already produced and are ready to be published and eventually minted, I have spent years creating them. Even though some of them may take me 300-500 hrs minimum, they contain assets that I've been saving and have created using all kinds of medium for years. Some of the characters that I'm releasing have been first created during photoshoots where I've spent days in a stage working with models and actors. Then I use those images to create the final drawing and eventually painted or finalized is some other way.

In the future some of you will be able to access all my Photoshop files including 300 DPI files at 6000+ x 6000+ Pixel in size and take personalized classes with me in return for your support of my project.

Stay tuned and you will be able to see videos of how I produce my work.
